Keynote: Wanderlust EDU
Wanderlust is described as a strong longing, or desire, to travel. It is this desire I hope to relate to you as necessary to have a fulfilling life journey. A musician once said “Life’s a journey, not a destination.” I would argue that destinations in the form of goals are relevant and important as they provide a compass to our journey in education. In WanderlustEDU, I frame my keynote around 4 attributes, that if identified and fostered will lead to a successful, well-loved journey: Motivation, Environment, Skills, and Knowledge. Motivation is our destination and what drives us to continue to the destination. The environment is the conditions in which we exist and embark. Skills are what we have and gain along the way. Knowledge is what we know and what we need to grow.

Multimedia Text Sets: Explore Digital Literacy and the Gateway to Designing HyperDocs
Multimedia text sets are collections of content that you can curate, package, and efficiently push out to students. Use text sets to transform classroom instruction cycles of learning. This shift in thinking is the gateway to creating HyperDocs and lessons in which students explore content before teachers deliver direct instruction. Participants will experience how students can explore and learn content and how teachers can package and deliver instruction by combining the use of text sets and various instructional strategies. Students will love this inquiry approach and teachers will be inspired by the depth of students knowledge. Take a look at how using Google apps and various web tools for packaging and workflow can greatly enhance your instruction by maximizing the time you have in the classroom. Each participant will design a multimedia text set and leave the session with new thinking about how to effectively enhance digital literacy.

Making Math Contextual, Visual, and Interconnected with Technology
When you ask North Americans whether they understand math, the response more often than not is negative. Ask whether they find math enjoyable and that number is almost certain to decrease. This is a rather deflating fact for those of us entrusted to teach mathematics to students with very similar views at best. Although it might seem as though the deck is stacked against us, we now live in an age where technology makes it possible to teach math with context and visualization. Come experience how to leverage technology to engage and inspire students to not only enjoy mathematics, but understand the beauty of this universal language we share in our classrooms each and every day.
